A hinged solid hardwood case in a mahogany finish that opens to a clock on one side and a working compass on the other. The blue "hack" style dial has gold-tone hands, white contrasting numerals, a polished brass-tone bezel and a glass crystal, and the compass has a matching blue dial. The cover has a recessed round brass plate ready for engraving, and the plate is included.
